What is it about?

The study explored the seeds pulp of the fresh bottle gourd fruit of edible age. It isolated some chemical compounds from the central part of the fresh fruit using extraction, chromatographic and other techniques. Some bioactivities were also determined.

Why is it important?

The study is an effort to understand the chemical profile of the seeds pulp of the young fresh fruit bottle gourd. It provided data to understand the medicinal properties of this part of the fruit.

Perspectives

To understand and discover natural and alternative medicines. The fruit bottle gourd or calabash has rich ethnomedicine. Thus, the current study was planned to understand the chemical constituents of the seeds pulp of the fruit and to know some of its bioactivities.
