What is it about?
Rainfall in an important weather parameter for crop and forest growth in Nigeria, Its pattern affects its distribution as well as duration which in turn affect soil properties, the project achieved the correlation of rainfall pattern and some soil chemical properties that would affect crop production.

Why is it important?
This work achieved the correlation between rainfall pattern and some soil chemical properties, It shows that at some point in rainfall pattern, some soil properties are abundant while some are in shortfall which called for adjustment to meet the need of the crop planted at that point in time.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. The article helped to see how soil chemical properties could be managed in relation to rainfall pattern for better crop and forestry production in the southern guinea savanna in Nigeria and similar place of the same ecological zones.
