Why is it important?

It is important because heat stress impairs the health and welfare of poultry birds. It results in oxidative stress due to excessive production of reactive oxygen species. This must be alleviated in order to maximise the genetic potentials of poultry birds.

Perspectives

It is not an exhaustive review but attempts to highlight the importance of supplementation of betaine and ascorbic acid to broiler chicken diet reared during heat stress conditions.
