Why is it important?
This article is important because it explains Augustine's understanding of the relationship of grace and free will in his theology by showing that human free will is not denied by St Augustine.
Perspectives
I wrote this article to try and understand the relationship between grace and free will in St Augustine's theology. Many people thought Augustine left no room for free will. What I found, to the contrary, was that St Augustine held that the free consent of the will was necessary.
