What is it about?
Theosophy was the first internationally widely operating movement which yearned to create a united and complete world spirituality, through a combination of Western and Eastern spirituality. It was in this kind of context specifically that Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947) together with his wife Helena Roerich (1879-1955), in inviting the creation of a new, universal culture, formed in their opinion, an original transformation system for individuals – Agni Yoga.

Why is it important?
The Roerichs did not develop a systematized summary of Agni Yoga methods, which would show how the yoga should be practiced.
Perspectives
Nowadays, when yoga methods are being offered and popularized both at an international (eg. Sahaja Yoga), as well as a local level (e.g., Klavdijas Yoga at Daugavpils, Latvia), a trend to adapt traditional Indian Yoga for Western consumer society is becoming increasingly apparent. It is specifically as a result of this adaptation, that more new forms of yoga are appearing in the West, among which Agni Yoga which was developed by the Roerichs, can also be listed.
