What is it about?
The concept of Buen Vivir, Sumak Kawsay or Good Life is heavily contested. In this article, the different strategies to power within the groups that use this concept are traced. This allows to make out breaking points and moments of convergence and can explain the hegemonic position of actors that are not part of the indigenous movement where this concept originated.

Because Good Life, as well as other political concepts of the indigenous movement, is understood as a fixed yet open belief of indigenous peoples - and not as a concept that transports demands and is product of a power struggle.
