Why is it important?
Environmental education has become an increasingly important component of environmental licensing, particularly in projects that require meaningful engagement with local communities. However, professionals often lack accessible resources that combine legal requirements, educational theory, and practical methodologies in one place. This e-book addresses that gap by providing evidence-based guidance and participatory techniques that can be adapted to different contexts. It is intended to support better environmental governance, strengthen stakeholder participation, and improve the quality and effectiveness of environmental education programs.
Perspectives
As one of the authors, I wanted this e-book to be more than a theoretical reference. My goal was to create a practical resource that environmental professionals could use in their everyday work, while also providing students and researchers with a solid foundation in environmental education applied to environmental licensing. Throughout the writing process, we sought to bridge the gap between academic knowledge, environmental legislation, and professional practice. I hope this book encourages more participatory, inclusive, and evidence-based approaches to environmental education and serves as a useful reference for those committed to promoting sustainable development and stronger environmental governance.
