What is it about?
Marriage is an important aspect of human culture which usually is accompanied by several challenges especially when it concerns more than two partners. It should be noted that marital problems does not affect only the families involved, but the society at large suffers when marriage between a couple fails or is undergoing challenges. As such, exploring the challenges faced by polygamous marriages provides a new dimension to address the societal problems as a whole.

Why is it important?
This work identifies and scrutinizes the issue of polygamy and its challenges which is a basis for child abuse and gender based violence today.
Perspectives
This article was realized thanks to first hand information gotten from people who had lived in polygamous homes and people who were victims of such marriages. The process was interesting as it revealed issues of human rights violations that exist in such marriages, especially when it comes to providing quality education for the many children who are products of such marriages. I hope this article makes a basis for stakeholders to address issues concerning polygamous marriages.
