Impaired expression of sex hormone receptors in male reproductive organs of diabetic rat in response to oral antidiabetic drugs

What is it about?

The effects of the oral antidiabetics (metformin, pioglitazone, and sitagliptin) on the structure of male reproductive organs were evaluated in an immunohistopathological study. The system organs were negatively and significantly affected with all studied drugs. Metformin has the least effect on the structure of the reproductive organs. So it is recommended to avoid using pioglitazone and sitagliptin in young male diabetic patients.
