What is it about?
From 2017 to 2018, the canton of Geneva implemented an unprecedented measure in Switzerland: the regularization of thousands of undocumented migrants who met certain predetermined criteria. What have been the consequences of this decision on their living conditions and projects? This publication presents the results of a comprehensive study called 'Parchemins', conducted over five years among those affected. Thanks to the wealth of data collected, this study demonstrates how access to legal status can change the life trajectories of these individuals, whether it be with regard to housing conditions, financial situations, social integration, health or quality of life. It provides interpretive keys for understanding these findings and offers recommendations for action aimed at policy makers and associations, in order to best support these new citizens."

Why is it important?
