There has been a proliferation of Muslim women memoirs. This paper highlights the issues in the narratives, and suggests two ways of reading them.

Muslim women writers are often inhibited especially when it comes to self-narratives. What they write about reveal how they depart from their beliefs and traditions.
Perspectives
Focusing on Muslim women writers is my area of interest, and their writings provide examples how they demonstrate their beliefs or rejection of traditions when they narrate the selves.
