Why is it important?
This paper is relevant as it shows a key period of time for reading, as new technologies have just irrupted. Public discourses about reading are analyzed, while the private ones are the object of plenty of reports ('Barómetro de hábitos de lectura y compra de libros' produced by Federación del Gremio de Editores en España published every year, except form the period between 2013 and 2016).
Perspectives
This paper is the result of the PhD thesis: 'Estudio de la lectura en los discursos legislativos y medios de comunicación social (1960-2010)' supervised by José Antonio Cordón y Raquel Gómez Díaz, graduating "Cum Laude", the highest qualification awarded by the University of Salamanca.
