Why is it important?
Universal (multi-mode) adhesive systems were introduced to simplify bonding while preserving clinical performance, as they can be used in etch-and-rinse, self-etch, or selective enamel etching modes. However, concerns remain about their long-term durability and their effect on the fracture resistance of composite restored teeth.
