What is it about?
Uterine scar pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy that occurs at the site of a previous caesarean section scar. With the global increase in caesarean section rates, this pathology is tending to become more frequent.

Why is it important?
It constitutes a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency, due to the high risk of serious complications such as uterine rupture, massive hemorrhage and loss of fertility.

Caesarean section is the most common obstetric procedure in the world, with a steadily rising rate, averaging 21% of births worldwide, and sometimes exceeding 30% in some middle- and high-income countries [1].
