What is it about?
The scarcity of Phosphorus fertilizer (P) is increasing over time. One option to cope with this constraint is to allow the crop to utilize the accumulated P from past years of applications. However, this strategy needs to be complemented with minor doses applied to foliage. If this is true, it is necessary to test the effect on the quality of maize grain.

Why is it important?
This research is essential as it seeks to find alternative fertilization methods to extend the availability of phosphorus (P) for agricultural purposes. Otherwise, food production would be at risk due to the extinction of this element.
Perspectives
This publication highlights the importance of food production and the need to conserve natural resources, specifically phosphorus, for agricultural purposes.
