What is it about?

This article tries to figure out why has the US intervened in Afghanistan and Iraq, while many other muslim countries also sheltered terrorists organizations and where suspected of developing weapons of mass destruction. The answer is that US tolerance was lower toward these countries due to their military weakness.

Why is it important?

This article is important because it builds in a comparative analysis of the muslim world, discarding hypotheses related to oil wealth, WMDs and terrorism, and offering a more systemic view of the Global War on Terror.

Perspectives

I expect Spanish readers to find concise information about foreign policy in the muslim world. The article is also an interesting comparative exercise.
