Why is it important?

In spite of the seeming high prevalence of buruli ulcer, the disease remains generally poorly understood. Diagnosis is largely presumptive and the associated risk factors poorly defined

Perspectives

Poor understanding of Buruli ulcer leads to poor clinical and psychosocial management of the disease. Therefore a close analytical study of the risk factors will possibly help to unravel the epidemiology and control of Buruli ulcer in our communities.
