What is it about?

Profound debates are brought up daily about how the international humanitarian law rules are keeping up with the phenomenon of asymmetric armed conflicts. These conflicts are divided into two types:asymmetric conflicts in the legal nature of the parties of the conflict, and asymmetric armed conflicts in terms of the different means and methods of fighting used by each party of the conflict. International humanitarian law is facing different challenges depending on the situation of each party involved in terms of strengths and weaknesses. While the stronger party has issues like defining the concept of military objective and lawful combatant, the weaker party’s issues are the limits of the prohibition of perfidy, in addition to reciprocity.
