What is it about?

Folic acid is important in the prevention of neural tube defects. The WHO recommends daily Folic acid supplements, especially during the early stages of pregnancy. In this paper, we have shown that uptake of Folic acid supplementation is still low despite governments' efforts to provide free tablets to pregnant women.

Our paper reveals that more efforts are needed to identify why mothers dont take folic acid supplements and to encourage them to take folic acid during pregnancy
