What is it about?

study, copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO) were prepared by a simple method from the corresponding salt using Fig (Ficus carica) leaves extracts. The particles were characterised using XRD, SEM, TEM, and AFM techniques. XRD spectra revealed that the particle size obtained was around (7.31 nm), which agreed fairly well with those estimated from SEM and TEM. Surface morphology of the nanoparticles was studied by SEM, TEM and AFM.

Why is it important?

The aim of the present work is to synthesize CuO nanoparticles using environmentally friendly green methods from copper salt and fig (Ficus carica) leaves extract and characterize their structure.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long-standing collaborations. This article also lead to inorganic and nano groups contacting me and ultimately to a greater involvement in inorganic and nano research.
