What is it about?
A novel coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic is widely believed to have originated from natural sources, most likely through animal transmission. This study interrogates this assumption from an Islamic biocentric frame of reference.

In this study, I argue that the emergence of coronaviruses into the human population is ecologically a natural biological process which is often triggered or exacerbated by the ways humans relate with other species, especially with birds and mammals.
