What is it about?

This book provides an introduction to the legal system in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States of America, and, in each jurisidiction-specific chapter, proceeds to cover elements of the banking law within the country that it considers. There is a short, final chapter that comprises concluding comments.

Why is it important?

The monograph brings together a synopsis of the banking laws in four English-language jurisidictions. Thus, it furnishes a source of information for English-speaking lawyers who are interested in this topic.

Perspectives

Whilst writing this book, it was interesting to observe how the four jurisdictions approached the issue of their banking laws. The structure tends to flow from the constitution of the relevant state, with history supplying a relevant factor in how the rules have developed there.
