What is it about?
In this text the changes involved in reading in digital format are explained. The factors taken into account when selecting one format or the other, as well as the current situation of digital press in our country are shown. For this reason, the news about this topic included in the newspapers: ABC, El País and El Mundo in 2011 -relevant period for digital reading - is analyzed and compared with the results from the AIMC surveys in order to obtain accurate conclusions.

Why is it important?
It's a relevant publication to observe the new technologies' impact in reading. In this way, the evolution of reading, as well as the new formats' devices and tools are analyzed.
Perspectives
It's part of the project “Estudio de la lectura en discursos legislativos y medios de comunicación social en la Península Ibérica (1999-2012)” developed thanks to the scholarship 'Becas Iberoamérica de Jóvenes Profesores Investigadores' of Banco Santander during an international stay at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) in 2014. So, it's a continuation of the project done in the Ph.D. thesis. Later on, it will be amplified to a wider scope, (Iberian Peninsula) in order to be able to contrast both countries.
