What is it about?
We introduced 97 first- and second-year medical students at three medical schools to mixed-reality lessons on heart and liver anatomy using Microsoft HoloLens and peer-assisted learning. Students rated the experience highly, with an average agreement score of about 86%, although satisfaction differed slightly by year and medical school.

Why is it important?
Mixed reality can help students explore three-dimensional anatomical relationships that are difficult to understand from flat images alone. The positive response supports further controlled studies comparing it with traditional teaching and measuring whether it improves knowledge, retention and clinical application.
Perspectives
From my perspective, this work matters because Mixed reality can help students explore three-dimensional anatomical relationships that are difficult to understand from flat images alone. I hope the findings support further research and informed, evidence-based decisions.
