What is it about?
The methods and techniques used in this paper to create bibliometric indicators of the field of Social Skills in Psychology can be used for any other research fields and areas of knowledge. It includes analysis of available bibliographic metadata in technological scientific literature databases, inserted into a database or a spreadsheet. Data can be filtered, grouped, and crossed to obtain the indicators presenting an overview of that field or area of expertise.

Why is it important?
Bibliometric indicators can provide an overview of a research field that allows to understand the past, present and future of the field. These indicators enable see if there are gaps in research; if there is research that should be developed, but are not being; if there are topics that could have greater emphasis; if there are many topics studied, but that could have less emphasis; which development trends that field. This helps the researcher and the teacher to decide to opt for more consistent paths of research with reality and the context of application of the research field. Hence the importance of a study like this.

Acesso e Uso de Fontes de Informação no campo das Habilidades Sociais
This presentation aimed to present strategic forms of search and retrieval of information in information sources, emphasizing the field of social skills. The speaker presents the types and sources of information characteristics in printed PHS, digital and online, as well as the main requirements to conduct search and retrieval of information: 1) the theme definition and research problem; 2) identification of the search and information retrieval system; 3) use of search and retrieval of information techniques; 4) discovery and selection of sources of information for research; 5) use of search and information retrieval standards; 6) developing search and information retrieval strategies. It presents a strategic flow for the search and retrieval of information, as well as some criteria to assist in obtaining reliable information, especially in the context of the internet.
Cientometria do Campo das Habilidades Sociais (CHS)
This site was developed as part of a PhD project, detailed in the article "On the PHS site" (http://www.phs.rihs.ufscar.br/index.php/menu-principal.html). It contains all the bibliographic production of goods produced in the Field of Social Skills, recovered from 24 databases in psychology. These recovered items cover the period 1912-2015 and are updated regularly. What you can find and make this site? Here are some of the main options: 1. Perform a search for articles of interest in the Field of Social Skills, using the Boolean search system commonly used on the Internet. Simply cross search terms in the title, subject (keywords), abstract, author, journal and period (year of publication). 2. Analyze the panorama bibliometric, indicators and rankings based on the Corpus HS, including: the total number of publications in HS to year and decade; the ranking that most often appear in articles on HS in terms of subjects, authors and journals. 3. Analyze the conceptual overview of the Field of Social Skills, which brings together the main issues in this field, in Portuguese and English. This list can be used in the submission of publications to define keywords and also to select the most appropriate terms to a literature search and build a good search strategy.
