What is it about?

This paper highlights the use of a solution-focused brief to alleviate stress among nursing students, as studies have established that trainee nurses experienced overwhelming situations that they found unable to navigate effectively.

Why is it important?

The outcomes of this study revealed that solution-focused brief interventions helped in reducing the physiological, emotional and behavioural components of stress among the target participants. Hence, the need for counsellors, psychologists and healthcare experts to adopt this strategy for alleviating stress among nursing students and the general population.

Perspectives

This article is an eye opener for educationists and healthcare experts in seeing beyond the use of medication only in combating mental health issues but complements it with psychotherapeutic interventions to provide sustainable solutions to stressors.
