What is it about?

Portable packages with scientific content, when aggregated make a bigger knowledge graph. Digital technologies make it possible to redefine the anatomy of how scientific knowledge can be packaged, distributed and found. This report explores upcoming standards that fit that purpose.

Why is it important?

Using collectively one of these standards to represent scientific content, can enable a new interconnected way how we explore scientific findings and relate knowledge nodes in the digital era.

Perspectives

The scientific endeavor can be represented in a knowledge graph from the cureent and future corpus of knowledge; to make new discoveries, show unexplored terrain, or area's with high success of finding evidence to steer funds for the next exploration. Using collectively standards to publish portable digital papers that encapsulate enhancements --semantic relations between other scientific assets like datasets, code and common linked-data ontologies-- will increase the build-up of this knowledge graph.
