Why is it important?

Unlike other studies of dance ethnography, this chapter includes the critical beginnings of the field that have been overlooked or marginalized due to latent and overt racism in the disciplines of Anthropology and Dance History. It also features the findings of researchers of color, for example in terms of dance and identity, dance and tourism, dance and gender, etc.

Perspectives

This is a farewell assessment of dance ethnography from an elder researcher.
