Why is it important?

In the present work, the susceptibility to IGSCC of type 304 SS in NaSCN solutions was studied. Results were compared with those obtained with Na2S2O3 and Na2S4O6 solutions tested under similar conditions

These results show that the thiocyanate anion is less aggressive than other metastable sulfur-containing anions and its aggressiveness is not merely related to sulfur content.
