What is it about?

The affected people should have a high daily intake of vitamin D for life, but also very early on, with serum values 25(OH)D of 40-100ng/mL. This additional therapy enables the potentiation of highly effective drugs to suppress the increased inflammation in multiple sclerosis.

Why is it important?

The multifactorial effect on comorbidities is not sufficiently appreciated.. Due to zero results in studies, its introduction into practice has been blocked, although the serum values (25(OH)D necessary have not been achieved.

Perspectives

Although there are sufficient studies worldwide on the benefits of Vitamin D supplementation, this simple, cost-effective therapy is not sufficiently publisherd in guidelines.
