What is it about?

This book dives into the lives of children with cerebral palsy in Serbia, exploring how they engage in daily activities compared to their peers. We discovered that these children face challenges, participating less often and in fewer activities. Parents expressed a desire for more varied and frequent activities, especially those promoting the child's health and social skills. The study also uncovered barriers in the environment, like physical demands and the layout of community spaces. Families needing more support for their child's participation in the community can be identified using these insights.

Why is it important?

This research is crucial because it focuses on a group often overlooked — children with cerebral palsy in a resource-challenged setting like Serbia. By understanding their participation and the environment's role, we can work towards creating more inclusive communities for these children.

Perspectives

I hope this work sparks discussions and actions to enhance their participation and make our communities more welcoming and supportive.
