What is it about?
This book unpacks the rich intellectual resources that have been treasured in the Buddhist Canons and commentaries for thousands of years to the modern environmental and nature philosophers and activists. Through this, it provides a rare opportunity for them to reflect on the modern environmental and nature protection movements and philosophies from an alternative but time-tested thought system in Buddhism.

Why is it important?
First of all, this book matters because the problems of environmental pollution and nature deteriorations unfolding across the planet right at this moment are by and large unsolved in the contemporary world. The second reason is for the sake of Buddhists. For Buddhists who have been well familiarized with the Buddha’s perfect system of thoughts, the modern sciences, economics, and policy discourses are very often strange, which can be because of being uniformed but also for disagreements with these modern ways. This book aims to build a bridge from the modern ways to the age-old Buddhist way of caring for environment and nature.
Perspectives
An excerpt from the book (p. 152): In the previous book, the present author stated that I am certain that “I am Lama Tsongkhapa reborn after six hundred years of utter peace,” which attracted some people’s attention (Seo 2024). Let me clarify this a little bit. The revelation was based on the utterly unimaginable life experiences of the present author which in retrospect are truly profound as well as auspicious. In brief, I had a very personal meeting with Lama Tsongkhapa for eleven times during the seven-year period from 2017 to 2023 who appeared to me in a dream-state form as well as in an awakened-state form. Through these meetings which were, in hindsight, flawlessly planned and gradually presented to me by Je Lama, he made sure secretly that I am certain without any slightest doubt that I am indeed Lama Tsongkhapa himself. During this period, many bodhisattvas, yoginis, and dakinis also appeared to me for over a dozen times carrying a special message in relation to the gentle protector Lama Tsongkhapa.
