What is it about?
This study evaluated the antibacterial activity and mechanism of a novel hydrogen peroxide and silver (H2O2-Ag+) complex (HSC) in combatting three bacterial pathogens. This environment-friendly disinfectant exhibited apparent antibacterial efficacy at a lower concentration and the main site of action was cell membrane. Therefore, our results show a potential for its application as a commercial disinfectant, particularly in the food industry.
