What is it about?

Encapsulated cinnamaldehyde (CIN) and citral (CIT) alone or in combination (CIN+CIT) have potentials to improve performance and gut health of broiler chicken. This study, we further investigated if encapsulated CIN, CIT, or CIN+CIT could affect antimicrobial resistance (AMR) phenotypes and genotypes of one of the most representative bacteria - chicken fecal E. coli. This will help us to know if CIN, CIT, and/or CIN+CIT could reduce antimicrobial resistance levels and virulence of bacteria from broiler chicken.
