What is it about?
The optimal Listeria monocytogenes MLVA typing scheme was developed based on the isolates from three Chinese western provinces. The composition of the optimal 8 MLVA loci of this scheme shares only 6 loci with a previous optimal 9 loci scheme.

Why is it important?
An optimal MLVA typing scheme is associated the origin of the isolates.
Perspectives
The authors hope that L. monocytogenes epidemiological studies based on the MLVA typing results would like to consider the typing scheme and have the explanation of the results in a context of typing scheme selection.
