What is it about?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule (FSMA PSR) requires that farms covered under the Rule do not harvest produce that has been dropped on the ground. This review discusses the ambiguities of this provision, as well as the factors that contribute to the risk of foodborne illness when produce is dropped or damaged.
