What is it about?

Foodborne illness from poultry remains a public health concern. Safe handling and preparation of raw poultry can prevent foodborne illness. Not washing raw poultry is currently the recommended practice but many consumers continue to wash raw poultry. This research explored the extent to which consumers are aware of the correct safe behavior. Additionally, the research identified barriers to some consumers adopting the correct behavior.
