What is it about?
The main aim of this work was to prepare and optimize esomeprazole nanosuspensions to enhance its dissolution rate. Esomeprazole nanosuspensions were prepared by the evaporative precipitation-ultrasonication method in presence of F68 and F127, as stabilizer. Formulation and process variables affecting the characteristics of nanosuspensions were optimized.

Why is it important?
this study confirms that evaporative precipitation- ultrasonication method is suitable for the preparation of nanosuspension of esomepzole like low water soluble drugs for enhancing their dissolution rate.
Perspectives
The results indicate the suitability of evaporative-precipitation-ultrasonication method for preparation of nanosuspensions of poorly soluble drugs with significantly improved in vitro dissolution rate and thus possibly enhance fast onset of therapeutic drug effect, and bioavailability.
