What is it about?
This study assessed the level and associated factors of self medication among the University of Juba students. It was a cross sectional study.

Why is it important?
Self medication is a double aged sword; while it may be necessary in some circumstances, it is equally undesirable in many cases because it leads to overuse or underuse of medications which may result in untoward effects and drug resistance. Addressing the factors influencing its use and devising means to discourage them is important.
Perspectives
This article adds to the current discourse on self medication in South Sudan and beyond. It was great to be part of the team that worked on this article. It was presented in the regional scientific where it worn an award.
