What is it about?
Breastmilk channels infant immunity in the right direction and breastfeeding provides the infant with the necessary balance so that the mucosal tissue is able to perform its normal physiological functions.

Why is it important?
The bioactive components of breastmilk are of significant importance because maternal vaccine-mediated immunity can further enhance the antimicrobial activity of breastmilk’s components.
Perspectives
This was by far the quickest article I have ever written and published! The idea of it came from my co-author who is a senior consultant pediatrician and with whom I have had long-standing collaborations.
