What is it about?

We use an electric current passed through an electrically conductive biomaterial to align cells.

Why is it important?

The alignment of cells is a common feature of many tissues including bone, muscle, nerve and skin.

Perspectives

This reports an interesting study of electrically conducting multilayer films that can be used to align cells. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists to develop these materials.
