What is it about?
The use of tobacco, alcohol and drugs of abuse during pregnancy constitutes a major and preventable public health problem in the whole world. The detection of drugs and metabolites in biological samples from the mother and/or the newborn constitutes an objective tool to document this exposure. We reviewed the most recent analytical methods to detect drug use during pregnancy.
