Why is it important?

This is a nationwide investigation of a total of 2,657 adult patients treated for hemolytic anemia. Patients with a cancer diagnosis have been excluded from this study. Finally, we could determine the etiology of the occurrence of extracorpuscular non-autoimmune hemolytic anemia in these patients.

Perspectives

It was fairly challenging to do this descriptive statistical research using a large-scale population-based database of adult patients hospitalized for hemolytic anemia management.
