What is it about?

Growth Hormone exerts in the body many effects quite different to those previously thought (growing, for instance). In this paper, we explain how Growth Hormone acts and what it produces when administered for any organ or tissue recovery.

Why is it important?

Because it describes Growth Hormone as a pleiotropic hormone able to repair many organ and tissues (even brain and heart) after an injury. Moreover, we describe how growth hormone begins its actions very early in the development.

Perspectives

In my opinion, this is the first time in which growth hormone has been shown to play key roles in the organism, far beyond of growing or acting as a metabolic hormone.
