What is it about?

Why is it important?

Despite the fact that students fulfil the pre-requisite criteria, about 78% of students report negative emotions associated with mandatory quantitative courses which can adversely affect their engagement in teaching rooms, their academic performance and even career choice.

Perspectives

When I commenced my research on mathematics and statistics anxiety, I found that students reported anxiety irrespective of their academic backgrounds. This highlighted the importance of focusing on students and understanding this phenomenon from their viewpoint to address it appropriately. This is exactly what I have done in this research.
