What is it about?

A technique for treatment of gingival recession

Featured Image

Why is it important?

It provides predictable root coverage

Perspectives

• There is no second surgical site because the periosteum is harvested from the same surgical site apical to the defect • The periosteum is outer osseous covering having niche of pluripotent cells. Thus, the periosteum can be harvested to supply progenitor cells for regeneration in multidisciplinary dentistry • The periosteum can be used as a barrier membrane for the treatment of endo‑periodontal defect as periapical/periradicular bony defect in interdisciplinary dentistry.
