Why is it important?

When common disease like hypertension is thought to be related to gum disease, it alarms everyone. It has also been told that number of teeth lost can directly affect blood pressure. High blood pressure can lead to serious problems like heart attack, stroke and so on.

Perspectives

We looked into all possible factors like life style, stress, obesity and other factors that can lead to high blood pressure. Several articles have told that there is a link. However, in our study we did not find a link. Future long term studies are required to know about the link between high blood pressure and gum disease
