What is it about?
This paper explains how the surgeon can prevent end organ atrophy after proximal peripheral nerve injury
Featured Image
Why is it important?
As end organ atrophy comes faster than axonal regeneration from repaired proximal nerve trunks. Baby sitting techniques act as an alternative to neurotization. They are based on end-to-side nerve repair and do not claim for a donor nerve sacrifce
Perspectives
Both baby sitting techniques and very distal neurotizations share best results in end organ preservation in case of proximal nerve injuries. Further researches should follow this trend
