What is it about?

Its a very rare type of presentation of tibial nerve injury. Considering the injury and the extent of avulsion, it was surprising that no other structures were inolved.

Why is it important?

Options for reconstruction following such avulsion injuries have been explained. nerve grafts, nerve transfer and how the decision was arrived at has been discussed.

Perspectives

Considerations were young female and minimal scarring in the surrounding area, were in favor of nerve reconstruction with grafts. this helped in anatomic reconstruction and as expected the recovery was rewarding.
