What is it about?

It talks about the effect of CPP-ACP & fluoridated chlorhexidine mouthwash on the bond strength of orthodontic brackets

Why is it important?

The study talks about the effect of CPP-ACP and chlorhexidine mouthwash on the shear bond strength of orthodontic brackets. It is important to know the influence of the two agents as they are commonly used to maintain oral hygiene during orthodontic therapy. The results of this study will assure clinicians that the concurrent use of these agents do not affect the shear bond strength of the orthodontic brackets. Thus, not leading to greater bond failures, increased chair side time or increased treatment times.

Perspectives

The current study builds on already available orthodontic literature and takes our understanding further so as to assure clinicians that commonly used agents for maintaining oral hygiene do not adversely affect orthodontic treatment in any manner
